StrongPoint Launches World’s First AutoStore™ Multi-Temperature Solution for Frozen Goods
StrongPoint, a retail technology company dedicated to enhancing the efficiency of stores and supply chains, has successfully installed the world’s first AutoStore™ Multi-Temperature Solution™ featuring a frozen zone. This groundbreaking system is now operational at Haugaland Storhusholdning, part of the Norwegian food distribution group DLVRY, located in Sveio, Norway.
“Implementing the frozen zone significantly improves our operational efficiency and creates a safer work environment for our employees,” says Oskar Kirkeleit, CEO of Haugaland Storhusholdning.
“This installation is designed for optimal efficiency in food distribution. We are proud to be the first to integrate an AutoStore solution with a frozen zone into our daily operations. Collaborating with MTG Technologies, the customer, and other partners to develop the software and system has been a rewarding journey. Today, we celebrate the launch of a fully operational site that meets our high standards,” says Jacob Tveraabak, CEO of StrongPoint.
“We are thrilled to see the Multi-Temperature Solution go live. This innovation will transform grocery operations by facilitating safer and more efficient picking of frozen inventory. With two additional Multi-Temperature Solutions in development, we eagerly anticipate the general release in Q1 2025,” states Parth Joshi, Chief Product Officer at AutoStore.
“We are proud to partner with AutoStore and support StrongPoint in delivering this pioneering Multi-Temperature Solution with a frozen zone for Haugaland Storhusholdning. This inaugural installation represents a significant advancement, and we look forward to contributing to the future of automated warehouse solutions with multi-temperature grid technology,” says Paul Edvin Bersaas, CEO of MTG Technologies.
The Multi-Temperature Solution is designed to accommodate multiple temperature zones within a single AutoStore cube. It supports both frozen and chilled environments, with temperature ranges from -25°C in the frozen section to +6°C in the chilled areas. Frozen products are picked at the Ports in the chilled zone, reducing the need for employees to work in extreme cold, thus enhancing the working environment. This innovative solution aims to improve speed and efficiency in handling frozen inventory for customers.
