The LYCRA Company, a global leader in innovative fiber and technology solutions for the apparel and personal care industries, announced its participation at Intertextile Shanghai from August 27 to 29. At the event, The LYCRA Company is showcasing its sustainable offerings at a 931-square-meter pavilion in Hall 4.1 (Booth E56), featuring 25 co-exhibitors under the theme “Accelerating Our Journey to Decarbonization.”
“We are excited to help attendees discover consumer-driven, market-relevant branded solutions that will elevate their businesses to the next level.”
The LYCRA Company will be highlighting several products designed to meet consumer needs while reducing the environmental impact of apparel:
- Bio-derived LYCRA® fiber: Made with QIRA®, the industry’s first renewable spandex available at scale, this fiber will launch in the first half of 2025. Derived from annually grown field corn, it is expected to reduce the carbon footprint of LYCRA® fiber by up to 44%* while maintaining the same performance as the original fiber. Attendees can explore this innovation at the Econogy Hub (Hall 5.1, Booth A36), where an immersive replica cornfield experience will showcase its potential to accelerate decarbonization in the fashion industry.
- LYCRA® FiT400™ fiber: This unique bicomponent fiber is engineered to optimize the comfort and performance of knits, offering a durable, soft hand feel, all-day stretch, long-lasting fit, and cooling comfort. It is certified by the Global Recycled Standard and contains 60% recycled PET and 14.4% bio-derived resources.
- COOLMAX® EcoMade and THERMOLITE® EcoMade fibers: Both made from 100% textile waste, COOLMAX® EcoMade fiber provides cool and dry comfort, while THERMOLITE® EcoMade fiber offers lightweight warmth to various garments.
“We are thrilled to showcase our sustainable solutions at Intertextile, which will help our customers reduce their carbon footprint and support their sustainability goals,” said Jason Wang, vice president, Asia. “We look forward to helping attendees find consumer-driven, market-relevant branded solutions to elevate their business.”
The LYCRA Company will also present LYCRA® ADAPTIV fiber, one of the company’s fastest-growing products, which is favored by brands and retailers worldwide for its inclusive sizing, second-skin fit, enhanced comfort in motion, and greater functionality in activewear, intimate apparel, denim, and more. Regina Miracle, a leading garment maker and key value chain partner, will showcase garment samples featuring LYCRA® ADAPTIV fiber.
Additionally, the booth will highlight new LYCRA FitSense® denim technology, a targeted shaping innovation for stretch denim that delivers a customizable fit for various body types and shapes. This discreet, invisible solution retains the authentic denim look and feel consumers desire, marking a significant breakthrough for the industry.
