Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc., a leading global producer, marketer, and distributor of high-quality fresh and fresh-cut fruits and vegetables, has announced the appointment of Dr. Nizar Haddad as Director of Innovation and Business Development. Dr. Haddad will also serve as General Manager of De l’Ora Bio, a Fresh Del Monte partnership with Vellsam Materias Bioactivas. De l’Ora Bio has recently inaugurated an innovative biofertilizer plant in Kenya aimed at optimizing the use of Fresh Del Monte’s pineapple byproducts.

In his new role, Dr. Haddad will spearhead the conversion of pineapple byproducts into premium biofertilizers at De l’Ora Bio. Additionally, Dr. Haddad will seek new avenues for advancing the company’s agricultural practices, aiming to ensure Fresh Del Monte remains a leader in industry innovation and operational excellence.
Dr. Haddad’s impressive background includes his tenure as Director General of the National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) in Jordan, where he led groundbreaking advancements in agricultural technology and practices. His achievements include the development of a regional agricultural innovation incubator, the e-NARC platform, and the National Seed Bank.
As Dr. Haddad takes on this new role, he will be integral to Fresh Del Monte’s innovation strategy, driving progress in biofertilizer production and contributing to the company’s mission of continuous improvement and agricultural leadership.
