BARK Announces Appointment of James Gagne to Board of Directors

BARK Strengthens Leadership with Seasoned Supply Chain Executive Bringing Over 30 Years of Global Logistics Expertise

BARK, Inc, a leading dog-focused consumer brand dedicated to making all dogs happy, has announced the appointment of James Gagne to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. This addition marks a strategic move by the Company as it continues to strengthen its operational capabilities, expand its supply chain expertise, and position itself for long-term scalable growth in the highly competitive pet products industry.

The announcement comes at a time when BARK is actively focusing on enhancing its global supply chain infrastructure and improving its ability to deliver innovative products efficiently to customers. With the pet industry experiencing sustained growth and evolving consumer expectations around speed, customization, and reliability, the inclusion of a leader with deep logistics and operational experience is expected to play a meaningful role in shaping the Company’s future direction.

James Gagne brings more than 30 years of extensive leadership experience in global supply chain management, logistics operations, and international business expansion. His career has been defined by his ability to scale organizations, build efficient global networks, and drive revenue growth through operational excellence and strategic transformation.

Most recently, Mr. Gagne founded KYNTRX Logistics, where he currently serves as Chief Executive Officer. KYNTRX Logistics is a next-generation, asset-light logistics platform designed to support highly complex and regulated industries. These include sectors such as defense, space exploration, semiconductor manufacturing, artificial intelligence infrastructure, and energy transition technologies. The company focuses on providing flexible, technology-enabled logistics solutions that meet the needs of industries where precision, compliance, and reliability are critical.

Under his leadership at KYNTRX Logistics, Mr. Gagne has been working to develop a modern logistics ecosystem that integrates advanced supply chain technologies, data-driven decision-making, and global coordination capabilities. His approach emphasizes agility and scalability, allowing clients to adapt quickly to shifting market conditions while maintaining operational stability.

Prior to founding KYNTRX Logistics, Mr. Gagne served as President and Chief Executive Officer of SEKO Logistics from 2017 to 2024. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in transforming the company into a globally recognized logistics leader. When he assumed leadership, SEKO Logistics operated in only three countries with approximately $400 million in annual revenue. Through a combination of strategic expansion, operational restructuring, and global partnership development, he led the organization through a significant transformation.

By the end of his tenure, SEKO Logistics had expanded its operations to 60 countries worldwide and achieved approximately $2.4 billion in revenue. This growth represented not only a substantial increase in scale but also a fundamental evolution in the company’s global footprint, service offerings, and market positioning. His leadership is widely credited with strengthening SEKO’s ability to compete in an increasingly complex global supply chain environment, characterized by rapid e-commerce growth, geopolitical disruptions, and rising customer expectations for faster delivery cycles.

Throughout his career, Mr. Gagne has been recognized for his ability to design and implement large-scale operational frameworks that improve efficiency while supporting rapid business growth. His expertise spans international logistics, freight forwarding, digital supply chain transformation, and end-to-end operational integration. He has also been deeply involved in developing strategies that align logistics infrastructure with emerging industry demands, particularly in technology-driven sectors.

In addition to his executive roles in the private sector, Mr. Gagne contributes to thought leadership and policy discussions in the broader global economy. He currently serves as a Board Trustee and a member of the Strategic Committee at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. In this capacity, he brings his extensive experience in global supply chains to discussions at the intersection of international policy, trade dynamics, and economic security.

His involvement with the Foreign Policy Research Institute highlights his broader perspective on how logistics and supply chain systems are not only commercial enablers but also critical components of national and global economic stability. He contributes insights on how geopolitical shifts, regulatory frameworks, and technological advancements influence global trade networks and industry operations.

Commenting on the appointment, Matt Meeker, Chief Executive Officer of BARK, emphasized the value that Mr. Gagne brings to the organization. He noted that James Gagne’s deep experience across global supply chain operations, combined with his track record of scaling businesses and increasing top-line revenue, makes him a highly valuable addition to the Board. Meeker highlighted Gagne’s leadership at SEKO Logistics, particularly his ability to expand the company’s global presence and significantly grow its revenue base over a relatively short period.

According to Meeker, BARK is excited to leverage Gagne’s expertise in designing and optimizing supply chain architectures. He noted that the Company is focused on building a more robust and differentiated logistics system that can support its expanding product portfolio and growing customer base. Meeker expressed confidence that Gagne’s strategic insight into global operations will help BARK enhance efficiency, reduce complexity, and unlock new opportunities for operational improvement.

From BARK’s perspective, the appointment aligns with its broader mission to innovate within the pet industry while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and product delivery. As consumer demand continues to evolve, especially in e-commerce-driven markets, companies like BARK are increasingly required to develop sophisticated supply chain systems that can support fast fulfillment, product variety, and scalable distribution.

James Gagne also shared his enthusiasm about joining BARK’s Board of Directors. He expressed excitement about contributing to the Company’s long-term growth strategy and supporting the development of a differentiated and scalable supply chain. He emphasized the importance of building logistics systems that not only improve operational efficiency but also create strategic value for the organization.

Gagne noted that he looks forward to working with BARK’s leadership team and Board members to further strengthen the Company’s operational foundation. He highlighted the opportunity to apply his experience in global logistics and supply chain transformation to help BARK navigate the complexities of modern retail distribution and consumer demand.

He further stated that he sees significant potential in BARK’s business model and brand positioning within the pet industry. By enhancing supply chain capabilities, he believes the Company can unlock new levels of performance, improve customer experience, and support sustained growth across its product lines.

Overall, the appointment of James Gagne represents a strategic enhancement to BARK’s governance and operational expertise. With his extensive background in scaling global logistics organizations and his forward-looking approach to supply chain innovation, he is expected to contribute meaningfully to the Company’s strategic direction.

As BARK continues to expand its reach and strengthen its position in the pet care market, the addition of experienced leaders like Gagne signals a clear focus on building a resilient, efficient, and future-ready organization capable of meeting the demands of a rapidly evolving global marketplace.
