Okay Ganshoren Reopens as Sustainable Market

Okay Ganshoren Reopens as Sustainable Neighborhood Supermarket on May 15

On Wednesday, May 15, Okay Ganshoren will reopen its doors after an extensive renovation. The 630 m² local supermarket has been updated to reflect the latest generation of Okay stores, featuring a refreshed freshmart, additional cooling cabinets, and an upgraded bread corner, among other enhancements. These improvements aim to make shopping at Okay Ganshoren even easier. Store manager Laurent Chauvin and his team are excited to welcome back their customers.

Focus on Fresh Products and Daily Fresh Bread

The modernized Okay Ganshoren is designed to enhance the shopping experience with a diverse range of fresh products. “In the freshmart, the wide aisles ensure a pleasant shopping experience. It’s easy to choose from our ample selection of fruit and vegetables, dairy, meat, cold cuts, fish, and ready-made meals, all as fresh and tasty as you’re used to at Okay,” says Laurent. Additional cooling cabinets have been installed outside the freshmart, offering an extensive choice of meat, fish, and vegetarian appetizers.

The store also features an upgraded bread corner where staff bake quality bread, breakfast rolls, and buns on-site. These are neatly displayed to ensure easy selection.

These updates contribute to a more pleasant and efficient shopping experience. “Every day, our team of 14 motivated employees is ready to assist our customers with a smile. All of them are local people who prioritize customer friendliness, good service, and helpfulness.”

Minimal Environmental Impact

Okay Ganshoren is committed to sustainability and minimizing its ecological footprint. The store runs entirely on green electricity, with no gas or fuel oil used. Its eco-friendly cooling systems emit 90% less CO2 than traditional installations, and energy-efficient LED lamps reduce electricity use by 30%. The store’s façade is treated with air-purifying paint.

Easy to Reach by Car and Bicycle

Okay Ganshoren is conveniently located and accessible for everyone. The spacious car park accommodates 38 vehicles and includes eight charging stations for electric vehicles. The bicycle shed provides secure parking for cargo bikes.

Store manager Laurent Chauvin and his team look forward to welcoming customers back to the newly renovated Okay Ganshoren on May 15.
