
Walmart Launches Early Holiday Plans Featuring Discounts and Affordable Meals
Walmart is kicking off the holiday shopping season earlier than ever, unveiling its strategies to help customers enjoy a memorable holiday with consistently low prices and a convenient shopping experience throughout the season.
“We understand that many customers are starting their holiday preparations earlier, and we’ve tailored our approach to meet their needs,” said Latriece Watkins, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer of Walmart U.S.
With nearly 50% of consumers planning to begin their holiday shopping as early as August and September, Walmart is offering savings starting in October. This includes its first Holiday Deals event and the return of its inflation-free holiday meal, both launching weeks earlier than in previous years.
Starting October 8, customers can take advantage of exceptional deals on popular holiday gifts, with deep savings across categories like electronics, home goods, fashion, and toys. Walmart+ members will get exclusive early access at midnight ET, while all customers can shop beginning at noon ET on Walmart.com and through the app. In-store deals kick off on October 9.

Walmart emphasizes that customers can find substantial savings throughout the season, including upcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday events. The retailer is committed to low prices daily, offering trending toys, fashion finds, electronics, and home goods at affordable rates.
Walmart is also introducing an inflation-free holiday meal for Thanksgiving, serving up to 10 people for under $7 per person, available for order starting October 14 through December 25. Customers can gift this meal to friends and family nationwide, enhancing the spirit of giving.
In collaboration with The Salvation Army, Walmart offers customers the chance to support local families through donations, having raised over $34 million last year.
To accommodate shoppers, Walmart is enhancing its delivery and pickup options, including Early Morning delivery and new AI technology to expand delivery services to an additional 12 million households.
