Independent, family-owned grocer Market of Choice is expanding its exclusive wine collection with Place, a tribute to Oregon’s diverse American Viticultural Areas (AVAs). The new line, launching this summer, adds to the retailer’s existing private release brands, including CommUnity Cellars, Intersect, and Bubbles Project.
The Place wines honor Oregon’s unique terroir, starting with a 2022 Pinot Noir from the Dundee Hills AVA in the Willamette Valley. Known for its mineral-rich, red volcanic soil, Dundee Hills lends the debut Place Pinot Noir its smooth, elegant profile with notes of dark cherry, plum, raspberry, wet stone, and a hint of baking spices. Priced at $29.99, this wine is the first of three planned releases from Dundee Hills.
Steve Johnson, Market of Choice’s beverage sales manager, shares, “We pride ourselves on offering a curated selection of wines from around the globe, with a particular focus on Oregon producers. The new Place Pinot Noir celebrates the excellence of Oregon’s wine industry, beginning with the renowned Dundee Hills region.”
Laurent Montalieu, founder and CEO of NW Wine Company, adds, “At NW Wine Company, we’re dedicated to creating wines that reflect their origins. Partnering with Market of Choice to produce Place Pinot Noir allows us to showcase the distinctive qualities of Dundee Hills in every bottle.”
The Place collection joins Market of Choice’s esteemed private labels:
CommUnity Cellars
Reflecting the retailer’s dedication to Oregon and community, CommUnity Cellars offers wines from Grochau Cellars. These wines, made from organically and sustainably farmed grapes in the Willamette Valley and Columbia Gorge, are priced between $18 and $26 per bottle. The range includes CommUnity Cellars Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Rosé, each showcasing classic Oregon characteristics with a refined yet accessible profile.
Intersect
Intersect wines highlight the meeting points of the Northwest’s natural landscapes. This collection includes everyday varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc from Oregon and Washington vineyards, offering high-quality wines at accessible prices.
Bubbles Project
The Bubbles Project features sparkling wines from around the world. Offerings include Asolo Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. from Italy, R. Dumont & Fils Champagne from France, and Cava Rosé from Spain. Each selection provides a unique and flavorful experience, perfect for various occasions.
