JCPenney and Jamey Perry Debut Stylish and Functional Wheelchair Fashion Collection

JCPenney has announced the launch of Jamey Perry for JCPenney, a limited-time collaboration offering fashionable and functional apparel designed for women who use wheelchairs. The exclusive collection will debut on September 9 at the Runway of Dreams Fashion Revolution show during New York Fashion Week (NYFW). This new line is part of JCPenney’s ongoing commitment to adaptive apparel, making fashion accessible to all, including America’s diverse, working families.

“Creating this line with JCPenney has been a dream come true,” said Perry. “Although I’m new to the design world, the JCPenney team recognized that my lived experience brought a valuable perspective in designing this collection.”

The collection, designed by accomplished disabled writer and athlete Jamey Perry, addresses the specific needs of wheelchair users while providing stylish options for everyday wear, special events, and everything in between. Jamey Perry for JCPenney is the latest addition to JCPenney’s adaptive apparel offerings, which have been expanding since 2021. The collection joins other adaptive brands, including Liz Claiborne, IZOD, St. John’s Bay, and Thereabouts.

“Women like me want to feel and look great while wearing clothes that fit our lifestyle,” Perry said. “JCPenney truly understands that, and the result is amazing.”

Available in women’s sizes XS-XXL, the collection includes 18 styles, ranging from blazers and dress slacks to blouses and cocktail outfits, with prices between $44 and $99. Thoughtfully designed, the collection addresses common challenges faced by women in wheelchairs. It features well-placed zippers for easy access, pockets designed for seated users, breathable fabrics to prevent irritation, extended back rises, shorter sleeves, and waistband loops for easier dressing—all without sacrificing style.

“Jamey emphasized the difficulty wheelchair users face when searching for dressier outfits that are also comfortable and functional for events like weddings or work,” said Chris Phillips, SVP, GMM Apparel and Head of Ecommerce for JCPenney. “We worked together to create a collection that combines high fashion with high function, and we are proud to continue growing our adaptive apparel offerings.”

In addition to her design work, Perry is an accomplished Division 1 wheelchair basketball player for the Los Angeles Clippers Chairmen, part of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA). In support of Perry and her team, JCPenney has donated $10,000 to the Clippers Chairmen.

The Jamey Perry for JCPenney collection will be available online at JCPenney.com starting September 9. For more information about the collaboration, visit the JCPenney Newsroom.
