Highlighting innovation in design, fashion, and branding, the events reinforce Hong Kong’s position as a leading hub for creative industries in Asia.
Hong Kong’s creative industries are entering a transformative phase, driven by strong institutional backing and a clear strategic vision from the Hong Kong SAR Government. With the ambition to position the city as a leading Asian creative hub, the government has placed cultural and creative sectors at the heart of its economic diversification strategy. In line with this vision, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council has taken a proactive role in elevating Hong Kong’s global creative profile by organizing a comprehensive lineup of seven major lifestyle, fashion, and licensing events in April. These events not only showcase the city’s creative strengths but also act as vital platforms connecting Hong Kong with Mainland China and international markets.
Held across two major venues—the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and AsiaWorld-Expo—the seven events span diverse sectors including gifts, home products, fashion, packaging, and licensing. Among them are the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, Home InStyle, and Fashion InStyle, which run from April 27 to 30, alongside the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair and Hong Kong Luxury Packaging Fair at AsiaWorld-Expo. Complementing these are the Hong Kong International Licensing Show and the Asia Licensing Conference, both taking place from April 27 to 29. Together, these events create a powerful ecosystem that fosters collaboration, innovation, and trade within the global creative industries.
A key highlight is the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, which reflects evolving consumer demands by focusing on four major themes: personalization, sustainability, healthy living, and cultural creativity. These trends are shaping the future of gifting, and the fair provides buyers with a curated environment to discover products that align with modern lifestyles. The return of the prestigious Hall of Fine Designs further enhances the event, bringing together renowned international and local brands known for their design excellence. This year also marks the debut participation of regional delegations from Shanxi and Zhejiang, signaling stronger Mainland China engagement. The inclusion of the Hong Kong Smart Design Awards Grand Final adds another dimension, offering a global stage for local designers to present innovative concepts and elevate Hong Kong’s original design capabilities.
Meanwhile, Home InStyle emphasizes the transformation of home living through innovation and inclusivity. Centered on themes such as advanced materials, cultural creativity, and senior-friendly technologies, the event bridges design inspiration with practical solutions. The Cultural and Creative Experience Zone stands out as a vibrant showcase of global home design trends, enriched by collaborations with Pantone. By integrating the 2026 Color of the Year, “White,” into immersive displays, the exhibition highlights how color influences modern interiors and consumer preferences. Additionally, the introduction of innovative materials and the continued focus on gerontechnology reflect the industry’s response to an aging population. The Gerontech and Innovative Material Pavilion, supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission, demonstrates how technology and design can come together to create functional, forward-looking home solutions.
Fashion InStyle pushes the boundaries of textile and material innovation through its flagship NEXT@Fashion InStyle zone. Supported by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), this segment underscores the importance of global collaboration. The Philippines, serving as a special partner, contributes a strong presence through organizations like the Philippine Trade and Investment Centre in Hong Kong and the Centre for International Trade Exhibitions and Delegations. Over 20 Philippine material suppliers join nearly 60 international exhibitors, creating a dynamic platform that blends global perspectives with regional craftsmanship.
Adding further depth to the fashion segment is the involvement of Han Chong, founder and creative director of the brand Self-Portrait. As a project consultant, he guides collaborative initiatives centered on cultural heritage, sustainable fashion, and technological functionality. These themes reflect the evolving priorities of the fashion industry, where sustainability and innovation are becoming essential rather than optional. A series of professional seminars complements the exhibition, offering insights into material trends and sustainable practices while fostering knowledge exchange among industry leaders.
The packaging sector also takes center stage through the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair and the Hong Kong Luxury Packaging Fair. These exhibitions highlight the growing importance of smart and sustainable packaging solutions. The focus on green printing technologies and eco-friendly materials responds directly to increasing environmental concerns and regulatory pressures. At the same time, the Luxury Packaging Fair caters to high-end markets such as jewelry, watches, cosmetics, and fine foods, delivering specialized solutions that align with premium branding requirements. Together, these events demonstrate how packaging is evolving into a strategic component of product differentiation and consumer engagement.
Beyond exhibitions, the April showcase is enriched by a diverse program of seminars, forums, product launches, and fashion shows. These activities address critical topics such as market trends, cultural and creative design, smart industry applications, the silver economy, and sustainability. By facilitating dialogue and knowledge sharing, the events go beyond trade to become platforms for strategic thinking and industry advancement.
In essence, this coordinated series of events reflects Hong Kong’s commitment to strengthening its position as a regional and global creative hub. By bringing together designers, manufacturers, buyers, and innovators from around the world, the initiative not only drives immediate business opportunities but also builds long-term connections across industries. As creative sectors continue to gain prominence in the global economy, Hong Kong’s integrated approach—combining policy support, international collaboration, and industry engagement—positions it as a leader in shaping the future of creativity and commerce.
