Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days Becomes the Company’s Largest October Shopping Event in History

Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) announced that its Prime Big Deal Days event was the largest October shopping event in company history. More Prime members participated this year compared to last, taking advantage of early holiday deals, with higher sales and more items sold over the two-day event than any previous October. Globally, Prime members saved over $1 billion across millions of deals on seasonal merchandise and gifts.

“Our 2024 Prime Big Deal Days event marked a strong start to the holiday shopping season, with record-breaking sales and participation from Prime members worldwide,” said Doug Herrington, CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores.

During the event, Prime members saved across categories like electronics, home, toys, beauty, and apparel. Popular items included products from brands like Dyson, Mattel, Levi’s, and Apple. Independent sellers also saw record sales, with popular products like L’ANGE HAIR’s Le Volume 2-in-1 Titanium Blow Dryer Brush and IT Cosmetics’ Superhero Mascara flying off the shelves.

Prime members also explored new shopping features like Rufus, Amazon’s AI-powered conversational assistant, which helped millions of U.S. customers with product recommendations and deal insights. Customers also used tools like Inspire—Amazon’s personalized feed—and Amazon Lens, a visual shopping tool that helps identify items and find similar products on the platform. Additionally, AI Shopping Guides made it easier for customers to navigate new product categories and make informed purchase decisions.

“We’re excited to deliver for customers this holiday, and we’re grateful to our teams around the world working hard to offer compelling selection, value, and convenience throughout the season,” Herrington added.

Though Prime Big Deal Days has ended, holiday savings are just beginning. Customers can explore top gifts and trending products in the Holiday Shop, which features curated lists like the Top 100+ Gifts and the Toys We Love collection. Upcoming events include:

  • The return of the Holiday Beauty Haul (October 21–November 3), offering deals on beauty products from brands like Clinique and Revlon.
  • 10% off select toys when you spend $25 until October 31.
  • The Black Friday NFL Football game on November 29, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders, exclusive to Prime Video.

It’s not too late to sign up for Prime.
