Aga Khan Museum Appoints Prince Ali Muhammad Aga Khan and Saira Bhojani to Board of Directors
The Aga Khan Museum in Toronto has announced the appointment of Prince Ali Muhammad Aga Khan and Saira Bhojani to its Board of Directors. Their appointments strengthen the Museum’s leadership and support its continued focus on cultural engagement, innovation, and strong governance.
Prince Ali Muhammad Aga Khan joins the Board with a strong commitment to the arts and culture. He brings an international perspective shaped by his work with the Aga Khan Trust for Culture and the Aga Khan Music Programme. His experience and dedication to fostering diversity and intercultural dialogue will support the Museum as it works to attract new audiences and expand its cultural impact in Canada and internationally.
Prince Ali is the son of the late HRH Karim Aga Khan IV and the brother of HRH Rahim Aga Khan V. His appointment brings a new generation’s perspective to the Museum’s leadership and further strengthens its connection to the broader cultural initiatives of the Aga Khan institutions.
Saira Bhojani also joins the Board of Directors. She is a partner at Torys LLP and is recognized as one of Canada’s leading tax lawyers. She advises major institutional investors and private equity firms on complex transactions, governance, and strategic matters.
Ms. Bhojani is already familiar with the Aga Khan Museum’s leadership and governance. Since 2025, she has served as an independent member of the Museum’s Finance and Audit Committee. Through this role, she has contributed her expertise, thoughtful advice, and collaborative approach to the Museum’s financial and governance priorities.
Tom Lentz, Vice Chairman of the Board, welcomed both appointments, highlighting Prince Ali’s passion for the arts and global perspective, as well as Ms. Bhojani’s expertise in governance and strategic decision-making. He noted that their combined experience will strengthen the Museum’s ability to advance its mission and long-term vision.
Prince Ali and Ms. Bhojani join the Museum’s 14-member Board of Directors, chaired by Prince Ameen Aga Khan. Their appointments reinforce the Aga Khan Museum’s commitment to effective governance, cultural leadership, innovation, and expanding its reach and relevance among audiences in Canada and around the world.

The Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, Canada, was established and developed by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).
