The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (NYSE:EL) has announced that Mark Loomis, Group President, North America, will retire after more than 28 years with the company at the end of fiscal year 2025. He will be succeeded by Tara Simon, who will take over as President, North America, and Amber English, who will assume the role of President, Digital and Online, North America. These leadership transitions will be effective January 1, 2025, to ensure a smooth handover ahead of Loomis’ retirement. Simon will report directly to Fabrizio Freda, President and CEO, while English will jointly report to Freda and Gibu Thomas, Executive Vice President, Online.
“Mark has done a tremendous job leading the North America business in a complex and competitive market,” said Freda. “His leadership has driven meaningful impact, fostering integration across our portfolio, championing a commitment to our people and values, and inspiring excellence. His strategic guidance, especially in North America and the Asia/Pacific region, has been pivotal in driving growth. We are deeply grateful for his contributions.”
Freda continued, “As we move into the next phase of North America’s growth, Tara and Amber bring exceptional experience that will help us capture the opportunities in this evolving market. Their leadership will advance our strategy through innovative products and marketing, while serving our customers across all channels.”
In her new role, Simon will focus on leading the company’s brick-and-mortar strategy across specialty-multi, department stores, and free-standing stores. Since joining Estée Lauder in 2020 as Senior Vice President, Global Manager, Too Faced, Simon has been instrumental in driving product innovation and consumer engagement. Before joining the company, she held senior roles at Ulta Beauty and Sephora, where she successfully expanded prestige beauty brands.
English, as President of Digital and Online, North America, will drive the company’s digital-first transformation and oversee eCommerce activities across Brand.com, Retailer.com, and pure-play platforms. English joined Estée Lauder in 2022 after 14 years at Amazon, where she played a critical role in developing Amazon Fashion’s private brands and spearheading digital transformation.
“We are entering a new chapter, and I am excited to work with Tara to shape the future of our North America business,” said English. “Our focus will be on recruiting new consumers, delivering captivating products, and scaling growth across all distribution channels.”
William P. Lauder, Executive Chairman, added, “Mark has guided the North America business through tremendous change and innovation. We are excited to welcome Tara and Amber to these key roles as their combined expertise will continue to drive success and growth in this dynamic market.”
