B&H is excited to announce the release of the Hasselblad XCD 75mm f/3.4 P lens, a versatile portrait-length prime that combines compactness and performance, ideal for group portraits, street photography, and landscapes. This launch also includes Hasselblad’s first extension tube for the X system—the X Extension Tube (9mm)—designed to reduce the minimum focusing distance on any lens for closer, more detailed shooting.
XCD 75mm f/3.4 P Lens
This 75mm f/3.4 P lens, part of Hasselblad’s XCD P-series for medium-format mirrorless cameras, offers the longest focal length and fastest aperture in this lineup of lightweight lenses. Its unique 59mm full-frame equivalent focal length bridges the gap between standard and portrait ranges, suiting it to both full-length and group portraits and as a narrow-angle option for street and landscape shots. The lens’s advanced optical construction, with aspherical and low-dispersion elements, enhances sharpness and color accuracy, complementing the 100MP sensors of the X2D and CFV 100C cameras.
For focusing, the lens uses a linear stepping motor for fast, quiet AF performance and includes an internal focusing mechanism with full-time manual override. The leaf shutter system offers a versatile shutter speed range from 1/2000 sec to 68 min and supports flash sync across all speeds. Weighing only 14 oz and measuring about 3 inches, it’s 45% lighter and 24% shorter than the XCD 65mm f/2.8, making it highly portable for travel and location shoots.
X Extension Tube (9mm)
Hasselblad also introduces the X Extension Tube (9mm), a welcome addition for macro and close-up photography. This 9mm tube sits between any X-mount lens and camera, reducing the minimum focusing distance and increasing magnification for intricate, close-range shots. The extension tube retains autofocus, exposure settings, and metadata, making it an easy and effective tool for detail-oriented work. Multiple tubes can be stacked for even closer focusing.
