Today, DoorDash introduced a range of new products designed to help merchants manage and grow their businesses across their own channels. With the evolving needs of their merchant partners in mind, DoorDash aims to provide innovative solutions that boost sales and streamline operations while catering to the preferences of modern consumers.
DoorDash’s new offerings include:
- The DoorDash Commerce Platform, enabling merchants to manage and grow their business through their own online and in-store channels.
- Online Ordering Mobile Apps, allowing merchants to create custom iOS or Android apps for their brand.
- The revamped DoorDash Business Manager App, providing merchants with enhanced tools to oversee their operations on the go.
“At our core, DoorDash is a merchant-first company,” said Prabir Adarkar, President and COO of DoorDash. “The DoorDash Commerce Platform is built to support merchants in creating direct sales channels and fostering lasting relationships with their customers. With the challenges the restaurant industry has faced in recent years, it’s more crucial than ever for merchants to innovate and find new ways to increase profitability.”
A Comprehensive Platform for Growth
The DoorDash Commerce Platform offers five key products that merchants can tailor to fit their unique business needs, whether online or in-store. These include:
- Drive On-Demand: Merchants can offer delivery through their own app or website.
- Online Ordering: A commission-free digital sales option available on merchants’ branded sites or apps.
- Phone Ordering: An AI-powered call-in system that offers menu suggestions.
- Tableside Order & Pay: Customers can scan a QR code to streamline their orders.
- Customer Support Solutions: A dedicated support platform for delivery-related inquiries.
Joseph Kim, U.S. CEO of bb.q Chicken, praised DoorDash for making the online ordering experience seamless and easy. “Our partnership with DoorDash has been transformative. Customers can now place orders for pick-up or delivery while earning loyalty points through our new bb.q rewards program. This digital transformation is making things more convenient for our customers and driving business growth for our franchisees.”
Branded Mobile Apps for Merchants
DoorDash also launched Online Ordering Mobile Apps, allowing restaurants to create custom branded mobile apps to enhance customer loyalty and order frequency. These apps integrate with the rest of the DoorDash Commerce Platform, offering a seamless experience across marketing and ordering channels, encouraging direct customer engagement.
Jaclyn Bambino, Chief Brand Officer at 3Natives, shared her experience with DoorDash’s Smart ‘Order Online’ button and pop-up features. “We’ve seen mobile app customers reorder 71% more frequently than web customers, and we’re very impressed with the performance of the Online Ordering platform.”
Enhanced Flexibility with the Business Manager App
With many small and medium-sized business owners constantly on the go, the updated DoorDash Business Manager App allows merchants to manage their business from their phone. New features include quick access to payouts and sales tracking, marketing campaign management, and personalized homepage feeds with recommendations.
Kevin Garry, Owner and Managing Partner of L’Artusi, highlighted the app’s benefits: “As a busy restaurant owner, the Business Manager App is a game changer. I can quickly check payouts and track sales metrics on my phone without having to sit down at a computer.”
These new features reflect DoorDash’s commitment to providing merchants with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
