Ulta Beauty’s New Vision for Women’s and Teens’ Well-Being

Ulta Beauty Charitable Foundation, affiliated with the nation’s largest beauty retailer, is dedicated to promoting the holistic well-being of women and teens. In line with its commitment to spreading joy and harnessing the power of beauty for positive change, the foundation, along with its nonprofit partners, strives to bolster well-being by offering resources that boost confidence, enhance physical health, and foster a sense of belonging.

Since 2016, the foundation has contributed over $61 million to enhance the lives of women and families. Recognizing the strong link between beauty and well-being—65% of consumers perceive a significant connection between the two—the foundation is intensifying its efforts to support partners and initiatives aligned with holistic well-being. This includes empowering women and teens to develop coping skills, maintain healthy bodies, and cultivate supportive relationships.

Jodi Caro, Ulta Beauty’s General Counsel and Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, emphasizes the intrinsic connection between well-being and beauty, noting the company’s vast female and teenage demographic. As a leading beauty retailer, Ulta Beauty recognizes its role in shaping the beauty experiences of young people and acknowledges its responsibility to ensure women and teens have access to the necessary resources for nurturing their holistic well-being.

To advance its well-being initiatives, the Ulta Beauty Charitable Foundation is launching a national fundraising campaign across its stores, benefiting organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS), as well as donating over $1 million in 2024 to national nonprofit partners such as The Jed Foundation, Active Minds, and Girls Inc. Additionally, the foundation plans to allocate $2 million to nonprofit partners focusing on well-being efforts tailored to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. Continuing its longstanding support, the foundation will also contribute to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) through monetary and in-kind donations, along with an in-store fundraising program.

As part of its expanded efforts, the foundation is deepening its partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) to become its national well-being partner. A national point-of-sale donation campaign in Ulta Beauty stores will support mental health resources for youth across the country, including self-care, self-expression, and self-discovery resources.

Furthermore, the Ulta Beauty Charitable Foundation is issuing $1 million in grants to national nonprofit partners focusing on mental health and holistic well-being. These partnerships include initiatives with The Jed Foundation, Active Minds, and Girls Inc., aiming to provide evidence-based mental health programs, youth-led mental health initiatives, and holistic wellness toolkits for girls.

Ulta Beauty remains committed to supporting its associates’ well-being year-round, offering resources such as financial wellness planning, meditation tools, and training on wellness and mindfulness. Additionally, the foundation provides volunteer opportunities for associates to give back to their communities and offers an Associate Relief Fund to provide financial support in times of need. Through these initiatives, Ulta Beauty continues to make a positive impact on the well-being of women, teens, and its associates.
