The CW Network and Shopsense AI have joined forces to revolutionize the viewing experience for ACC college football fans. Beginning with the Virginia Tech vs. Syracuse game at 12 p.m. ET on November 2, viewers will have the unique opportunity to shop for game-day essentials and team merchandise directly from their mobile devices, utilizing Shopsense’s cutting-edge Commerce Operating System (Commerce OS). This initiative marks the first instance of shoppable TV in college sports, initially focusing on ACC broadcasts before expanding to other live sports, scripted shows, and unscripted programming on The CW Network. Fans engaging with game-day content, whether on television or social media, will enjoy a seamless shopping experience alongside their favorite broadcasts.
“College football has some of the most passionate and engaged fans in all of sports, and we’re excited to harness that energy with our game-changing shoppable TV technology,” stated Glenn Fishback, CEO and Co-Founder of Shopsense AI.
Laura Lamattina, Vice President and Creative Director of Branded Entertainment at The CW Network, expressed enthusiasm for merging the thrill of live sports with innovative technology, enhancing fan experiences and providing exciting brand opportunities.
Since its launch in April 2024, Shopsense AI’s platform has transformed into Commerce OS, a robust operating system offering a full suite of TV Shopability and Consumer Activation tools. These tools enable brands to connect with consumers in a more dynamic, interactive, and revenue-generating shopping experience.
“By bringing shoppable TV to The CW’s ACC college football broadcasts, we’re merging the excitement of live sports with cutting-edge technology that enhances fan experiences,” Lamattina added.
This collaboration allows fans to support their teams in new ways, whether by purchasing merchandise, game-related gear, or supplies for an ideal tailgating experience. It aims to deepen fan engagement and create new revenue streams for brands, all while delivering a smooth and interactive shopping experience that resonates with the college sports community.
ACC football broadcasts are part of CW FOOTBALL SATURDAY, airing every Saturday this fall, which also features Pac-12 football games. The CW Network will showcase over 500 hours of premium sports programming in 2025, including NASCAR Xfinity Series racing, ACC basketball, WWE NXT, and the Emmy Award-winning show “Inside the NFL.”
