7-Eleven, Inc. Unveils 2024 Impact Report, Showcasing Commitment to Community, Sustainability, and Responsible Consumption
7-Eleven, Inc. has released its 2024 Impact Report, detailing the company’s ongoing efforts to support local communities, minimize environmental impact, and promote responsible product sourcing and consumption.
“We care deeply about the communities we serve — and where we live and work,” said Marissa Jarratt, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing & Sustainability Officer at 7-Eleven, Inc. “Our approach, ‘Good Made Easy,’ defines how we deliver meaningful change while also building resilience in our business.”
The report highlights progress in three key areas — People, Planet, and Products:
People: Strengthening Communities Through Service
7-Eleven’s core commitment to community engagement shines through initiatives like volunteerism, charitable donations, and fundraising efforts. The company’s impact is amplified through strong partnerships and creative community involvement.
- Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN): One standout story in 2024 is Nolan, an enthusiastic eight-year-old CMN champion, who designed a special edition Slurpee® Day cup distributed nationwide. Through efforts like these, the company raised over $17 million this year, supporting 112 local CMN hospitals. [Read more about Nolan and 7-Eleven’s partnership with CMN here.]
Planet: Advancing Toward Carbon Reduction Goals
In alignment with the Green Challenge 2050 from parent company Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd., 7-Eleven has committed to cutting carbon dioxide equivalent emissions from its stores by 50% by 2030, using 2013 as the baseline.
- Energy Management System (EMS): The company’s Architecture, Engineering, and Design team is deploying smart technology through EMS, a system that optimizes energy use across stores, contributing to significant emissions reductions across the brand.
Products: Promoting Sustainable Sourcing and Packaging
7-Eleven is making strides in offering more responsibly sourced and sustainably packaged products, balancing quality with environmental consciousness.
- Plastic Waste Reduction: Packaging for the 7-Select™ Replenish® hydration beverage line was redesigned to reduce plastic waste by an estimated 104 metric tons annually. The optimized design also allows for more cases per pallet, reducing transportation needs by nearly 25%.
