Travel and sustainability-focused brand Monos has unveiled its latest retail venture with the opening of a second location, enhancing accessibility to its acclaimed line of suitcases, bags, and accessories. Following the success of its Vancouver flagship store, the new outlet finds its home on Toronto’s lively Ossington Avenue in Little Portugal (111 Ossington Avenue Toronto, Ontario, M6J 2Z2).
“We are thrilled to integrate into the vibrant fabric of the Little Portugal community through our Ossington store. With deep roots in Canada, this marks just the beginning,” said Victor Tam, Co-Founder and CEO of Monos. “Looking ahead, we plan to extend our immersive retail experiences to a global scale with eight new stores across the U.S., starting with New York City and Chicago next year.”
Monos Ossington draws inspiration from fleeting moments of beauty, offering guests a multi-sensory journey. Created in collaboration with renowned interior and concept design studio Ste Marie, the store’s ambiance reflects a gentle, surreal interpretation of Portugal’s pousadas. Soft, sweeping forms and a meticulously curated material palette create a dreamlike atmosphere, anchored by monolithic cottonwood limestone structures and an illuminated olive tree centerpiece.
“At Monos, we are dedicated to connecting humanity with nature through our design philosophy. Our partnership with Ste Marie to transform the Ossington store into an immersive space is truly special,” commented Hubert Chan, Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder at Monos.
The opening weekend at Ossington promises special refreshments in collaboration with local partners like Nutbar, along with an exclusive limited edition gift for early patrons. The store will also feature a bespoke installation by local floral designer Lauren Wilson of Timberlost and Toronto-based artist Dahae Song, blurring the boundaries between physical and metaphysical realms.
