LuxCreo Broadens Partnership with ASICS to Bring Personalized Shoes to a Wider Audience

LuxCreo has announced an expansion of its partnership with ASICS to facilitate the rapid, local delivery of personalized 3D-printed shoes and insoles for everyone.

“Meeting the diverse needs of athletes and other customers requires us to rethink how we produce our products to ensure true personalization,” said Genki Hatano, lead researcher at the Green Manufacturing Research Team, Future Creation Dept., ASICS Institute of Sport Science (ISS). “Our research indicates that athletes greatly value personalized footbeds, which has motivated us to make personalized footwear available to a broader audience.”

LuxCreo’s 3D Printing Smart Factory, which integrates a comprehensive 3D printing technology stack, is now a key component of ASICS’ Personalization Studio. This setup, which also uses Dassault Systèmes’ technology, streamlines the process of scanning, designing, and printing custom shoes and insoles.

LuxCreo’s advanced resin offers elasticity without permanent deformation, while ASICS’ expertise in biomechanics, footwear, and lattice structure combines with LuxCreo’s material innovations to produce unique, high-performance designs that prioritize comfort and durability.

Localized 3D printing enables rapid production cycles, ensuring that personalized footwear and insoles are consistently high-quality and well-fitted. This approach allows consumers to confidently order custom products tailored to their needs.

“We have developed a 3D printing platform and ecosystem to deliver personalized products,” said Michael Strohecker, Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer of LuxCreo. “Our Smart Factory not only supports the dental and medical industries but also aids ASICS in exploring a new business model that turns consumer data into on-demand personalized shoes.”

The ASICS Personalization Studio, featuring LuxCreo’s Smart Factory, will debut its personalized insoles for athletes in Paris, France, starting July 29, 2024. For more information about LuxCreo’s 3D Printing Smart Factory, visit LuxCreo.com.
