The LA Kings have officially introduced their new permanent home and away uniforms, showcasing the club’s new primary mark prominently. These jerseys will make their debut this weekend in Las Vegas, coinciding with the Kings’ first selection in the 2024 National Hockey League (NHL) Draft. The home uniform will be seen on the ice in September during the 2024 Rookie Faceoff tournament, hosted by the Kings, while the away uniform will make its first appearance in the Kings’ initial preseason game later that month.
The new uniforms, in black, silver, and white, embody the key elements of the organization’s recent brand evolution, featuring updated team logos and design elements. They incorporate core aspects inspired by the club’s 90s era and include an updated crown from the team’s inception in 1967. Additionally, an “enhanced silver” has been introduced.
Both the white and black jerseys share the same design, including a larger primary crest centered on the front. The back features higher contrast lettering for better visibility, and the bicep numbers are now positioned higher towards each shoulder.
A notable feature of the black home uniform is the new matte black helmet, marking the first time an NHL team has used such a helmet full-time. Partners Mercury Insurance (jersey) and Blue Shield of California (helmet) return for the 2024-25 season and are prominently featured. The white away uniform retains the same white helmet as last season.
The Kings will not have an alternate uniform for the upcoming 2024-25 season, and the shiny silver “chrome dome” helmet will not be part of the new uniform collection.
Recently, the Kings officially retired their most recent primary logo, which debuted in 2008 as an alternate jersey element and became the primary mark in 2011. The team captured both of their Stanley Cups wearing the black version of that jersey.
Further details about the 2024 Rookie Faceoff event will be announced later. The 2024 NHL Draft takes place this weekend in Las Vegas, with the Kings holding four selections, including the 21st overall choice.
