Birdzi, a leading provider of customer intelligence and engagement solutions for the supermarket industry, has announced a significant API integration with ECRS, a prominent provider of modern retail point-of-sale (POS) solutions. This collaboration includes Harps Food Stores, a joint customer of both companies. Through this integration, grocery retailers like Harps can now offer their customers seamless access to digital coupons, loyalty rewards, and Birdzi’s personalized VISPER offers in real time during their shopping experience.
Birdzi has been at the forefront of transforming how grocers engage with their customers since its inception. Their VISPER 2.0 solution, launched in 2022, has elevated Birdzi’s Customer Intelligence Platform to become the industry’s most advanced personalization and engagement ecosystem. With this latest integration, shopper and basket data from ECRS’s CATAPULT® Retail POS system is instantly transmitted to Birdzi’s platform. This enables immediate execution of personalized discounts and promotional offers at the point of sale, enhancing the customer experience with efficiency and relevance.
David Ganoung, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer at Harps Food Stores, emphasized the benefits for their shoppers: “The collaborative integration between Birdzi and ECRS allows Harps to provide our loyal shoppers with effortless access to immediate savings that matter to them. We strive to deliver personalized and curated experiences to enhance customer satisfaction.”
The integration has already been successfully implemented across over 80 Harps locations spanning several states. Prior to this partnership, Harps had deployed Birdzi’s Customer Intelligence Platform, leveraging tools such as a mobile rewards app, personalized ad flyers, and digital coupons to digitally engage and foster loyalty among their customer base. Simplifying access to digital coupons and loyalty offers was a key focus for Harps in enhancing the checkout experience for their customers.
Brad Tracy, VP of direct sales at ECRS, highlighted the strategic implications of this integration: “Grocers are continually seeking innovative ways to elevate customer engagement. This strategic collaboration with Birdzi enables grocery retailers to cultivate stronger customer loyalty by delivering an enhanced shopping experience with automatic redemption of rewards and discounts.”
The streamlined purchasing process now ensures that Harps customers can seamlessly redeem personalized digital coupons and loyalty offers at checkout, with their purchases and club balances reflected in real time in their digital wallets.
Shekar Raman, CEO and co-founder of Birdzi, underscored their commitment to driving innovation in grocery retail: “Birdzi is dedicated to helping longtime grocery partners like Harps enhance engagement with their loyal shoppers. Partnering with cutting-edge technology providers like ECRS allows us to simplify operations for our customers and evolve our platform to deliver scalable, efficient, and tailored solutions that support their business objectives.”
