Eventbrite Announces Departure of Chief Operating Officer Lanny Baker

Eventbrite (NYSE: EB), a global leader in the live events marketplace, today announced that its Chief Operating Officer, Lanny Baker, will be stepping down from his role effective December 31, 2024. Baker is leaving the company to pursue a senior executive position outside of Eventbrite.

Baker, who was appointed COO in 2024, initially joined Eventbrite in 2019 as Chief Financial Officer. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s financial foundation, helping to position Eventbrite as a leader in the global live events space. In his new role, Baker will continue to work closely with Eventbrite’s leadership team to ensure a smooth transition of his responsibilities. The company has already begun the search for his successor.

Julia Hartz, Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Executive Chair of Eventbrite, expressed her deep appreciation for Baker’s contributions. “I want to express my gratitude to Lanny for his five years of leadership and for the essential role he played in strengthening our financial foundation and driving the transformation of our marketplace,” said Hartz. “He has built an exceptional finance and operations team that will continue to help us achieve our vision of becoming the go-to marketplace for live experiences. Lanny’s contributions have laid a strong foundation for our future success, and we wish him all the best in his next venture.”

Baker himself reflected on his time at Eventbrite, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to work with the team. “I’m incredibly thankful for the chance to have worked with Julia and the entire team to build Eventbrite into a global leader in the live events industry. I’m confident that the foundation we’ve built will allow the company to continue transforming into the premier marketplace for live experiences,” said Baker.

Under Baker’s leadership, Eventbrite has evolved significantly, expanding its offerings and solidifying its role as a key player in the live event industry. His strategic contributions have been critical in scaling the company’s operations and supporting its financial growth, setting Eventbrite up for continued success in the years to come.

Eventbrite’s marketplace enables creators to host and manage events in nearly 180 countries.
