Collect&Go Launches New Same-Day Grocery Service in Ghent
Collect&Go, the online shopping service by Colruyt Group, is testing a new service in Ghent starting today. Customers can now shop online and choose between same-day home delivery or collection from refrigerated lockers. This innovation, a first in Belgium, is in collaboration with Okay, Colruyt Group’s neighborhood supermarket, which focuses on fresh produce. This expansion aims to meet the evolving needs of customers.
Refrigerated Lockers: A Supermarket First in Belgium
Collect&Go’s new service allows customers in Ghent to place orders via vandaag.collectandgo.be by 1 p.m. for same-day pickup or delivery. Orders can be collected from 3 p.m. in refrigerated lockers or delivered by cargo bike from 4 p.m. The lockers, maintained at 4°C, ensure products stay fresh and are only used for up to four hours before the selected time slot.
This service targets customers who need quick access to fresh groceries, whether for midweek top-ups or last-minute needs. Leen De Dobbeleer, Head of Innovation at Collect&Go, notes the service caters to both urban customers who shop frequently and rural customers who need fresh produce midweek. This solution offers flexibility for both groups, enhancing their shopping experience.
Wide Range of Fresh and Essential Products
The new service offers a selection of 1,200 products, focusing on fresh produce, meat, fish, and convenience items, making up 60% of the range. It also includes dry foods and essential non-food items like shampoo and washing-up liquid. The range, curated with Okay, balances regular needs with a user-friendly selection process. Okay also handles the delivery, ensuring timely stocking of the refrigerated lockers.
Service Details and Availability
The service is currently being tested in the Ghent region. Home delivery is available in Ghent (9000) and Gentbrugge (9050) for €4.99, with same-day delivery for orders placed by 1 p.m. Collection from refrigerated lockers costs €2.49, available at Okay Heusden (Laarnebaan 75) and Colruyt Group Academy Melle (Brusselsesteenweg 157). Orders placed by 1 p.m. can be collected the same day between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m., Monday to Saturday. Orders after 1 p.m. are ready the next day.
