Bobbie Infant Formula Brand Enhances Manufacturing Capacity with New State-of-the-Art Facility, Primed to Support Triple the Number of American Families in the Future

One year after acquiring Nature’s One, Bobbie, the mom-founded pediatric nutrition company, has launched its inaugural production run of USDA Organic infant formula at its new state-of-the-art facility in Heath, Ohio. This facility, purchased by Bobbie’s CEO, marks the first ground-up construction of an infant formula plant in the U.S. in 23 years, addressing the widespread formula shortage of recent years and enabling the company to serve three times as many families.

Spanning 90,000 square feet, Bobbie’s new facility integrates powder drying and canning under one roof, employing top-tier safety protocols to minimize handling and transportation, ensuring fresher products from creation to delivery. In conjunction with formula produced by long-standing partner Perrigo, Bobbie is poised to potentially meet nearly 15% of the non-WIC market demand in the near future.

Reflecting on the impact of the formula shortage and Bobbie’s commitment to reliability, Laura Modi, CEO and Co-Founder of Bobbie, expressed, “Our new facility ensures unprecedented reliability for parents going forward, building on our brand promise of uninterrupted deliveries even during supply constraints.” She emphasized the facility’s role in securing a steady supply chain and fostering rapid innovation in infant nutrition.

With the opening of the facility, Bobbie has relocated its headquarters from San Francisco to Heath, Ohio, reinforcing its commitment to U.S. manufacturing and adding 35 new employees with plans for further expansion. Jason Blaisure, formerly of Chobani, joins as Chief Supply Chain Officer, bringing extensive manufacturing and quality assurance expertise to enhance product safety and reliability.

Bobbie’s ownership of end-to-end manufacturing underscores its dedication to strengthening the domestic infant formula supply chain. Advocating for industry standards, Bobbie co-created the Infant Formula Made in America Act, a bipartisan legislative effort to bolster U.S. infant formula production and regulatory oversight.

The facility’s launch marks a significant milestone for Bobbie, positioning it at the forefront of infant nutrition innovation while ensuring consistent availability and quality for families nationwide.
