
Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) has announced the appointment of Bob Moritz, the retired Chairperson of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Moritz will be the 12th member of Walmart’s Board and will serve on both the Audit Committee and the Technology and eCommerce Committee.

To achieve this, it’s essential to have strategic leaders like Bob on our Board,” said Greg Penner, Chairman of Walmart’s Board of Directors. “With his extensive experience leading PwC and his global perspective, Bob’s governance expertise is invaluable as we continue to shape the future of retail.”

Bob Moritz retired from PwC in June 2024 after a distinguished 39-year career, during which he held various roles, including U.S. Chairman and Senior Partner, and most recently, Global Chair of the firm. He joined PwC in 1985, became a partner in 1995, and has an extensive background in audit and assurance, particularly within the financial services, banking, and capital markets sectors. His career also included a three-year tenure with PwC Japan, where he worked with European and U.S.-based financial services companies operating in Asia. Before his global role, Bob led PwC’s U.S. firm as Chairman and Senior Partner for seven years.
In addition to his leadership at PwC, Moritz has been actively involved in various philanthropic initiatives, including serving on the board of Generation Unlimited and as a member of the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council. He currently serves on the board of the State University of New York at Oswego Foundation.
