Riskified Strengthens Fraud Prevention Efforts as a Key Partner of International Fraud Awareness Week 2025

The global leader in e-commerce fraud prevention and risk intelligence , announces its participation in International Fraud Awareness Week , taking place November 16-22, 2025. The company joins hundreds of organizations around the world to raise awareness of the urgency of combating fraud and protect merchants and customers worldwide, especially during the height of online shopping activity ahead of the holiday season.

Deloitte predicts that e-commerce sales will reach $305 billion to $311 billion during the 2025 holiday season, bringing a surge of new and repeat customers and boosting revenue for businesses. Unfortunately, this growth also creates attractive opportunities for fraudsters. According to Juniper Research , losses from e-commerce fraud are projected to reach $107 billion by 2029.

AI is transforming both purchasing behavior and criminal methods at an unprecedented pace. According to Riskified data, the number of merchants accepting orders through generative AI channels increased threefold in Q3 2025 compared to the beginning of the year. In Q3 alone, traffic from generative AI-powered shopping tools was 1.1 to 1.7 times riskier than general search traffic. This, combined with emerging risks from agent-based commerce and AI-enabled fraud schemes, underscores the urgent need for merchants to employ advanced strategies and technology to protect their transactions, operations, and customers.

AI agents are fundamentally changing the way people shop, bringing increased convenience but also creating new vulnerabilities,” said Jeff Otto, Chief Marketing Officer at Riskified. “Our fraud team is uniquely positioned to protect both merchants and consumers. They are building guardrails to enable e-commerce innovations to be adopted safely and confidently. Our goal is to ensure every e-commerce channel is a sustainable revenue stream, not a conduit for fraud and abuse, during the holiday season and beyond.

As an official supporter of International Fraud Awareness Week, Riskified has launched a series of initiatives to promote fraud education and vigilance. This year’s highlight includes its second annual billboard campaign in partnership with the New York Stock Exchange. Located in the heart of New York City’s Times Square, and for the first time this year, billboards will be deployed in Silicon Valley, spotlighting retailers committed to providing a safe and secure holiday shopping experience. Visit Riskified.com/FraudWeek to find educational content such as ” Ecommerce Threats: Leveraging AI to Uncover 2025 Holiday Shopping Scams and Abuse,  as well as retail success stories showcasing effective fraud prevention.

The initiative is a joint effort between the company and its e-commerce ecosystem partners, including AWS, Deloitte, Mastercard, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Fiserv, Checkout.com and Aurus, aimed at helping consumers make informed decisions when shopping with brands that prioritize fraud protection.

John Gill, JD, CFE, president of the Institute of Certified Fraud Examiners, said that with the support of organizations around the world, International Fraud Awareness Week is an effective tool for raising anti-fraud awareness.

Fraud is unfortunately an issue that affects people from all walks of life, all over the world, and it takes many forms. Most people know someone who has been a victim of fraud, whether it’s a trusted employee at a small business who stole from them, or an elderly person in their community who has been targeted by an organized fraud ring. That’s why it’s so important that organizations come together in this fight and raise awareness this week and beyond. This is a serious issue that requires a proactive approach to prevention, and educating people is the first step,” said Gill.
