CP Extra Advances Good Governance with “AXTRA CG DAY: Good Governance for Sustainable Growth”
CP Extra Public Company Limited, the operator of wholesale and retail businesses Makro and Lotus, is reinforcing its commitment to transparency and ethical business practices through the event “AXTRA CG DAY: Good Governance for Sustainable Growth.” This initiative reflects the company’s mission to embed strong corporate governance as a core foundation of its operations, while promoting a culture of transparency, responsibility, and stakeholder inclusivity to drive long-term, sustainable growth.
The event was graced by Ms. Sineenat Chaemsri, Senior Director and Head of Sustainable Business Development at the Stock Exchange of Thailand, alongside CP Extra’s Board of Directors and senior executives. Their presence underscored a collective commitment to instilling good governance throughout all levels of the organization.
Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Charoen Pokphand Group and Chairman of CP Extra’s Board of Directors, highlighted the Group’s governance philosophy, stating:
“Good governance goes beyond rules and regulations—it is a moral compass embedded in our corporate culture and the essence of sustainability. At CP Group, we uphold four key pillars:
A panel discussion on “Uniting Forces to Drive Sustainable Governance” featured Dr. Thiraphol Thanomsakyuthi, Director of CP Extra, who emphasized the Board’s role in translating governance policies into practice. He outlined six guiding principles: responsibility, transparency, fairness, stakeholder engagement, ethics, and executive accountability, which together form the foundation of a credible, sustainable organization. He stressed the importance of leadership by example in fostering an ethical and transparent corporate culture.
In addition, Mr. Thanis Chearavanont, CEO of Makro Business Thailand, and Mr. Sompong Rungnirattisai, CEO of Lotus Business Thailand, shared practical applications of good governance across their operations—from procurement and branch-level compliance to internal communications—ensuring alignment and understanding among all employees. Their leadership reflects the “Tone from the Top” approach that is key to embedding a governance culture throughout the organization.
CP Extra continues to embed good governance into its organizational DNA, applying these principles across all work processes at both the headquarters and over 2,600 Makro and Lotus branches nationwide. The company’s ultimate goal is to be a trusted, transparent, and ethically driven organization—one that grows sustainably and earns the confidence of society at every level.
