Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Foundation Invest $750,000 in Tornado Disaster Relief

In the wake of the devastating tornadoes that swept through Illinois, Kentucky, and Missouri in May 2025, Walmart Inc., Sam’s Club, and the Walmart Foundation have pledged a combined $750,000 to support relief efforts in the affected regions. This commitment underscores the organizations’ dedication to aiding communities during times of crisis.

Immediate Relief Efforts

The severe storms, particularly impacting areas like St. Louis, Missouri, and London and Somerset, Kentucky, left thousands with damaged homes and widespread power outages. In response, Walmart and Sam’s Club have collaborated with various nonprofit organizations to provide essential resources:

  • St. Louis, Missouri: Walmart partnered with Annie Malone Children & Family Services to deliver two truckloads of supplies to residents in need.
  • London, Kentucky: At the Walmart Supercenter (Store #1113), free hot meals are being offered through Operation BBQ Relief. Additionally, Tides Loads of Hope laundry service and showers provided by Matthew 25: Ministries, Procter & Gamble, and Walmart have been deployed to assist the community.
  • Across Impacted Areas: Recognizing the loss of homes and power, Walmart and Sam’s Club have worked with the Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC) to provide Wi-Fi services and charging stations to affected areas.
