The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (NYSE: EL) announced the appointment of Brian Franz as its first Chief Technology, Data & Analytics Officer. Franz will report directly to President and CEO Stéphane de La Faverie and will join the company’s executive leadership team.

In his new role, Franz will oversee the global IT organization, digital technology and experience, and enterprise data teams. His responsibilities include modernizing infrastructure, building resilient platforms, and advancing AI-powered capabilities to deliver personalized customer experiences and drive business agility.
Franz brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles, including Executive Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer at State Street, where he led global technology, enterprise resilience, and data initiatives. His background also includes senior positions at Diageo PLC and PepsiCo International, where he focused on aligning technology strategies with business objectives.

Reporting directly to President and CEO Stéphane de La Faverie, Franz will also join the company’s executive leadership team as he takes on a central role in steering Estée Lauder’s ambitious digital and operational transformation.

Franz’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for the company, as it intensifies efforts to execute its strategic “Beauty Reimagined” vision—a comprehensive initiative designed to modernize the company’s infrastructure, accelerate innovation, and place greater emphasis on data-driven, consumer-centric decision-making.
In his new position, Franz will be responsible for driving Estée Lauder’s global technology and data agenda. This includes leading the IT organization, the Digital Technology and Experience team, and the Enterprise Data team. His mandate will focus on building secure, scalable platforms, integrating digital systems, and applying artificial intelligence to elevate customer engagement and enhance overall business agility.
