Bio-Planet is excited to announce the opening of its new store in Zottegem on Wednesday, May 8. This marks the 36th Bio-Planet location in Belgium, demonstrating the chain’s commitment to making organic and eco-friendly products more accessible and inspiring a shift towards conscious consumerism with high-quality offerings and stores.
New Store at a Familiar Location
The new Bio-Planet store is located at the former site of Louise Delhaize in Zottegem, making it a convenient destination for those seeking organic and ecological products. This is the first Bio-Planet to open following Colruyt Group’s acquisition of Match, Smatch, and Louis Delhaize stores. The Zottegem store was prepared for opening in just five weeks, a notable achievement that involved repurposing much of the existing store’s furnishings to create the distinctive Bio-Planet look and feel. Customers will find a wide selection of organic fruits and vegetables, fresh bread, meat, cheese, cold cuts, and a variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free products.
Store manager Katrijn Claeys, who already worked for Bio-Planet, is ready with her team of four employees to welcome customers to the new 771 m² store. The team includes both Bio-Planet veterans and former Louis Delhaize staff.
“I’m tremendously proud that we’ve been able to create a shopping environment so quickly whilst also using a considerable amount of the existing furnishings. A shopping environment that moreover truly reflects our values and inspires our customers to make the transition to conscious consumerism,” said Claeys.
Familiar Product Range
Bio-Planet is committed to offering genuinely high-quality products in truly high-quality stores. Customers will notice this commitment immediately, with shopping baskets made from recycled polypropylene sourced from plastic waste and used fishing nets.
The store emphasizes package-free products, offering a variety of bulk items. Customers can purchase fruits, vegetables, nuts, cereals, dried fruits, sweet and savory snacks, and coffee beans in bulk, reducing unnecessary packaging. Customers are encouraged to bring their own containers or purchase reusable cups or canisters from Bio-Planet.
Additional Offerings
Bio-Planet Zottegem also features a range of ecological care products and natural cosmetics in the health and beauty corner. For last-minute gifts, the store at Buke 20 offers gift baskets filled with high-quality products, which can be combined with flowers and gift cards or customized.
Customers preferring online shopping can reserve and pick up their organic groceries via Collect&Go at Bio-Planet Zottegem.
